Roller Skate Detroit is the premier adult roller skate entertainment. We are currently seeking a Basic Jam Skate Trainer to conduct one-hour public/private events at our new facility.
As a company on a mission to elevate the roller skating experience to full immersion, we are seeking a Jam Skate Trainer to help us champion products and processes that will do just that. The Jam Skate Trainer is accountable for creating, leading, driving, and innovating skate steps that are challenging for advance skaters but fun and engaging for everyone from beginner and up. This is a skate leadership role focused on bringing to life the vision and strategy to make Roller Skate Detroit the foremost destination of roller skating entertainment. As the Jam Skate Trainer, you are responsible for delivering, collaborating with and curating an elevated jam skate immersion, that speak to both our brand and customer.
Role + Responsibilites
Curate the Jam Skate Training.
Attend some weekly meetups, to assist skaters that my need pointers and tips
Engage beginner skaters keep the training light, fun and enjoyable.
Know Jam skate style and terminology
Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the trainee experience.
Understanding the individual needs of the trainees to meet them where they are in their skate journey and move them towards the goals they set.
Knowledge/Skills + Abilities
Must be 18+
Average or above jam skating skill.
Own skates.
Willingness to learn.
Clear verbal communication skills.
Love training and interacting with skaters of all levels.
Be committed to the job and professional in dealing with clients.
Charismatic and outgoing a plus.
Understanding and knowledge of the origins of the Jam Skate style a plus.
